Christine Aure serves as Community Partnerships Associate. In this role, Christine provides support on TLUC community planning projects and civic engagement, as well as overall administrative assistance.
Christine previously worked for Search to Involve Pilipino Americans as Economic Development Intern and El Cajon Community Development Corporation as Resource Development Associate. In these past capacities she has focused on community-based neighborhood revitalization efforts specifically in low-income communities and communities of color.
Christine's specialization is in physical planning and urban design. Christine holds a degree in Environmental Analysis and Design from the University of California, Irvine. She is currently attending the Urban Planning MA program at the University of California, Los Angeles and is expected to graduate in June 2008.

Joel Ulloa serves as Community Partnerships Associate. Since 2006, Joel has provided support on TLUC community planning projects and civic engagement He played a role in the outreach for South Gate's General Plan Update workshops, and currently has assisted with the development and designing of South Gate's current health workshops. Joel has further assisted staff on projects such as the Riverside County Transportation Commission Goods Movement study. Interested in the fields of civic engagement and environmental issues relative to urban life, Joel finds an opportunity to exercise both interests through his work at TLUC.
Joel also volunteers for a high school mentoring program for Oscar de la Hoya Animo Charter School. As one of the program's coordinators, Joel helps oversee the program, designs weekly agendas and plans events for the participating students.
Joel is pursuing degrees in Urban Planning and Environmental Studies at the University of Southern California. Joel is expected to graduate in May of 2009. |
